Ben Pitts
Lighting designer
Ben was Lighting Designer for The Elixir of Love (February 2007), the first time he worked with Opera South.
Ben graduated from Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in 2001 with a BA(hons) in Lighting Design. He has since worked on many shows, including Rent, Art, and Gumboots (touring) and Pirates of Penzance, Jerry Springer the Opera, and Dancing in the Streets in the West End. He was production electrician and undertook relights in Gumboots.
Ben’s recent design credits include An Evening With Bohème (UK tour), Gumboots (Pretoria State Theatre, South Africa) For the rest of his time, Ben works as a lighting technician on projects that take him all over the world and for four months in 2006 Ben was in Doha in Qatar, working on the Asian Games 2006. He was very happy to get back to the UK afterwards: he missed the rain!
