Opera South

WELCOME TO OPERA SOUTH

Opera South, incorporating Opera Omnibus (founded in 1984), presents opera in English,
in Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. It provides a springboard for emerging professional
singers, directors, musicians, and designers at the beginning of their careers.

Each year Opera South presents a fully staged and costumed opera with orchestra and chorus,
as well as organising concerts with young professional soloists, talks and presentations.
The events take place in a variety of attractive venues in the area.

This year's opera will be
MERRIE ENGLAND by EDWARD GERMAN
22nd, 23rd (schools' matinée), 24th and 25th February 2012 at Haslemere Hall, Haslemere, Surrey.
The full opera production will be accompanied by
the Opera South Orchestra and Chorus

WANTED

CALLING ALL AMATEUR SINGERS and ACTORS!
We are looking for extra voices (especially tenors) to join our well trained chorus, as well as Morris Dancers and actors to play yeomen, bowmen, roundheads, cavaliers and soldiers of the empire from all ages.
